Eureka Forbes, age-old brand for aquaguard range. Personally using its products for 10-15 years. Earlier used its vacuum cleaner, aquaguard total inova, etc. This one’s an upgrade from previous iNova model. So based on previous experience with Eureka, wrt quality, service & durability of products they offer, it was an easy decision. Both earlier products still working fine.
Today, 100’s of brands are assembling water purifiers & selling them with some fancy outer packaging, but only some have done proper research to provide you appropriate quality.
UNBOXING:
It comes in strong thermocole packaging with
1. Aquaguard
2. Instruction leaflet
3. Kit containing 2 tubes, one diverter valve, 4 sets of screws, installation template sticker
4. AC Adapter for aquaguard
5. 5 chlorine tablets (to disinfect it once in a while, follow instructions on the leaflet)
PROS:
1. Uniquely beautiful product from Eureka. One of the reasons i went for this model.
2. One-step water filter, just switch it on and leave rest to it.
3. It takes around 25-30 mins to fill 6ltr capacity. Not bad.
4. 6 ltr Storage tank with auto cut off when tank full, and autostart when the level goes down
5. TDS regulator to adjust TDS in water, to adjust it to your taste (Important note below)
6. It comes with an inbuilt booster pump to build up pressure for RO membrane efficient working. Not sure if you would require an external one if tank height is not sufficient. Coz in my case tank is on the 4th floor of my house.
7. The compactness of the system. Won’t consume much of space & tubes can be organized well.
8. Installation was done well on time. Just make sure to register your request as soon as you get a notification for its delivery.
CONS:
1. Wastage of water. Though not exactly a con, as RO is meant to work that way. But if you are getting an RO, be ready to manage huge amount of wastewater, as you would not even want to simply drain it in the sink.
-It will reject around 3 times water, so approx 18 liters per tank fill.
-Also, note that this water is exactly not wastewater, it’s simply tap water with further higher TDS level, so it can be put to use in many scenarios.
2. Just hate that blue plastic cover for the led indicator. Seriously Eureka, what is this. It’s not at all matching with overall design, theme & color scheme. Simply a translucent white plastic would have worked great.
3. A separate adapter is an extra fuss to manage, more cable, more components. Would have preferred inbuilt power system, as was with some of the previous models. Reduces extra clutter in the kitchen.
4. Need to improve the quality & looks of the adapter. It kind of spoils looks of beautiful aquaguard, & looks ugly on its side.
IMPORTANT NOTE: TDS REGULATOR
Don’t miss on this feature while selecting aquaguard if your water is not very high in hardness, typically above 1000, else you would regret getting a model w/o regulator. In my area, hardness is in range 400-500, and i am glad that i got this model with the regulator.
Initially, the regulator is fully closed, so as per the RO system, it reduces hardness to <10%. So if tap water hardness is below 500, then final filtered water has very low hardness in the range of <50, which makes the water bitter in taste.
So i adusted TDS regulator, following instructions on the leaflet, to a range of 90-100. Now it tastes really good. In my case, it went up to 10-20 range, and the water tasted really bad, too bitter to taste.

PREFILTER CONFUSION:
-Prefilter is necessary where water is dirty, to say, particles and dirt are visible with the naked eye. It increases the life of inner filters. So in my view, a prefilter is required, only if your water is really dirty.
-This model does not come with prefilter, even Eureka does not claim to provide the same. So it not like, seller excluded it or its missed, etc.
-Installation person may insist on getting it installed, to make some profit out of the sale (yes, this one directly goes to them), but you can simply deny if you dont feel the need.
-Also, it looks ugly & spoils the overall looks of this device. More components outside aquaguard, more cable, more joints. Its all messy, and looks bad, if you are a bit cautious about kitchen looks.
FINAL VERDICT:
In my opinion, you can very well go with this model, ignoring other brands who are selling more due to brand ambassadors or extensive promotional spends, which is ultimately transferred to you.
Eurekas an old name and they rely heavily on their quality & service, instead of spending too much on ads for their sales.
There’s also a model with the same looks but without UV available at a lower price, so you can check out the same. Its just RO + UF and no UV & TDS regulator. But my personal advice is, UV is a must in the purifier, while regulator a must in lower limit TDS zones.
